1983년에 개봉하여 전 세계적인 화제를 불러 일으킨 명작 플래쉬 댄스((Flashdance). 어려운 환경속에서도 자신의 꿈을 결코 버리지 않고 꿋꿋하게 살아가는 한 여인의 야망과 사랑을 영상미의 천재인 에드리안 라인 감독 특유의 감성적인 터치로 기막히게 잘 뽑아낸 걸작이다. 이 영화는 전 세계적인 돌풍을 일으키며 문화 아이콘으로 자리매김하였는데 주인공인 제니퍼 빌즈가 입었던 트레이닝복을 비롯하여 그녀가 앉아 있는 자세(약간 삐딱하게 옷을 입고 삐딱한 시선으로 주시하는) 또한 젊은이들 사이에서 이미테이션 열풍까지 불 정도였다.
특히 오래 전의 한 화장품 CF에서 여자모델이 런닝머신 위에서 열심히 달리는 컨셉에서 이 노래가 BGM으로 사용되어 매우 인상깊게 보았던 기억이 있다.
